Quinn&Skulls

Pensavo di non riuscire a postare foto della mia Quinn fino all'autunno prossimo, ma "grazie" a questo giugno freddo ho colto l'occasione per indossarla e fare le foto! Sì perché in realtà l'ho cucita già da qualche mese, posizionandola forse al primo posto tra i miei capi preferiti (la adoro!!), ma rimandavo sempre il momento per fotografarla e postarla...

Il cartamodello è di Named, disponibile anche nella versione PDF. Ha un taglio dritto e semplice, ma le cose che la rendono particolare sono il colletto sovrapposto e il polsino con l'abbottonatura per i gemelli, creati con due bottoni uniti da un filo elastico.

Le istruzioni fornite sono solo in inglese, nonostante ciò sono molto chiare e corredate da tante immagini, per cui la costruzione del capo, se si ha un minimo di pratica, non risulta per niente complicata.
Secondo me è perfetta indossata con un paio di jeans o pantaloni skinny, risalta la linea dritta della camicia e il dettaglio dell'abbottonatura sul davanti.

The pattern is from Named, also available in PDF format. It has a straight and simple cut, but the things that make it interesting are the overlapping collar and the French cuffs and cuff links made of buttons.

Even if the instructions are in English only they are very clear and accompanied by so many images, so sewing this model is not at all complicated, if you have a bit of practice.

I think it is perfectly matched with a pair of jeans or skinny pants, stand out the straight line of the shirt and the detail of the button stands on the front.

Ho tagliato una 36 e così come è stato per altri modelli dello stesso marchio non ho dovuto apportare nessuna modifica.

Il tessuto l'ho acquistato su Pretty Mercerie ed è un cotone fondo panna con teschi blu.

I cut a 36 size and as it has been for other models of the same brand I didn't have to make any changes.

I bought the fabric on Pretty Mercerie, a white cotton with blue skulls.

Non ci sono osservazioni lunghissime da fare su questo modello. Avevo già cucito altre camicie quindi è stato veramente facile e veloce realizzarla.
L'unico punto su cui vorrei soffermarmi che in realtà non è legato precisamente al modello è il rinforzo termoadesivo. Mi spiego meglio: tutte le volte che l'ho usato per rinforzare i cinturini di gonne o pantaloni non ho mai avuto problemi con lavaggi in lavatrice. Mi è capitato invece con polsini e colletti che si formassero delle bolle. Non so se è perché il tessuto delle camicie è più leggero e quindi tende ad avere questo problema o sbaglio io ... boh! Comunque per evitare ciò con Quinn l'ho eliminato. Ho inserito tra i due strati di stoffa un cotone un po' più grosso, in modo da renderli più rigidi. Non credo che questo sia il modo più corretto per la realizzazione di polsini e colletti, devo capire come ottenere un risultato più professionale.

There are no long observations to make on this model. I had already stitched other shirts so it was really easy and fast achieve it.
The only thing I wish to comment, that in reality is not related specifically to the model, is the fusible interfacing. Let me explain: every time I used it to reinforce the waistband of skirts or pants I've never had problems after washing. It happened instead with cuffs and collars that were formed bubbles. I don't know if it's because the fabric of the shirts is lighter and therefore tends to have this problem or I'm wrong... However, to avoid this with Quinn I have removed it. I inserted between the two layers of fabric a thick cotton, so as to make them more rigid. I don't think this is the correct way for the construction of cuffs and collars, I have to understand how to get a professional result.

In ogni caso il risultato mi soddisfa veramente molto, mi piace tantissimo indossarla e ... l'ho già detto che la adoro?? ;)
